Clone Drone In The Danger Zone Wiki

Commentatron, sometimes spelled Comment-a-tron, is one of the commentator robots in the Danger Zone.

Appearance[]

Commentatron seems to be a repurposed Business Hammer Bot, with his accessories being the main differences. has a triangular torso with appropriately large arms, ending with grey, three-fingered hance. His lower jaw protrudes from his mouth, being a separate piece that moves upon speaking, along with his red eyes lighting up. His legs are hidden behind the desk, but upon inspection in Photo Mode, he is standing up the entire time. His legs are tall, but seemingly thin and frail with black, three-toed boots. He has red hair.

In terms of uniform, he wears a large black coat with a white cuff shirt and long blue tie. On his head, he wears glasses and a pair of headphones with a microphone. Behind the desk, it is revealed he is wearing black shorts.

Personality[]

[if you think you can do better, please edit this.]

Commentatron seems to be quite expressive, making various comments of the ongoing events in the Danger Zone. Most of his remarks indicate an actual enjoyment in watching the conflict, in particular hoping the human would die (he even bets with Analysis-Bot on how). He is very expressive for a robot, with his arms moving around when he speaks.

He is very friendly with Analysis-Bot, his coworker, and sometimes even comforts him when the latter is terrified from a stray arrow hitting the forcefield guarding their booth. He is also interested in Analysis-Bot's ability to produce poetic speech patterns, and in one or more cases even joins in.

Background/History[]

Before Clone Drone in the Danger Zone[]

The events that took place before Clone Drone in the Danger Zone are a mystery, and Commentatron's origins are unknown. However, at some point he was created and started being used to comment on all combat in the Danger Zone alongside Analysis-Bot. He watched large numbers of harvested humans fight in the arena, all of them dying at some point (with the exception of Emilia, who managed to escape). Early on, they likely tested humans still in their bodies, but cleaning up the blood proved to be difficult. They also tried bloodless humans, which failed miserably since humans needed blood to survive. Finally, they resorted to putting humans in robot bodies, with each robot's primary color based on the human's favorite.

The Danger Zone included a variety of challenges and modes, all of which Commentatron was there to comment on. From a usual endless mode (where he sometimes announced the difficulty ranking before the Emperor and was promptly scolded) to upgrade-specific or opponent-specific challenges, to private duels between humans and even large arenas where humans fought to be the last one standing. In some cases, multiple humans would work together to take on endless mode or the challenges at once.

Chapter One[]

Commentatron, along with Analysis-Bot, introduce the next of many humans onto the battlefield, and watch it survive the first four rounds. On the fifth round, the Emperor arrives to watch over the arena in person, and Commentatron becomes one of many to witness the harvest of the humans' Alpha Centauri Station outside their solar system, along with the introduction of the latest combat model, the Spider-Tron 5000. On the tenth round, Commentatron witnesses the human escape the arena through the garbage tunnel (hacked open by Emilia).

Chapter Two[]

Commentatron and Analysis-Bot send in the next human, falsely claiming that the escaped human from Chapter One died in the garbage. Here, the Hammer Bots are introduced. After another ten rounds of combat, a second human to survive this long escapes via a hijacked Garbage Bot transporting it out of the Arena and to a hideout.

Chapter Three[]

Commentatron does not appear in Chapter Three; however, similar-looking Business Hammer Bots are prevalent.

Chapter Four[]

Commentatron can be briefly seen when the human diplomat is sent to the arena to "negotiate."

Chapter Five[]

No appearance.

Trivia[]

Dialogue[]

  • Commentatron asks Analysis-Bot what his relationship with Purple Shep is, referencing the fact that Analysis-bot uses the same TTS voice as Purple Shep, Will(FromAfar).
  • Commentatron says that he loves the smell of energy swords in the morning, revealing that he has a "nose" installed.
  • Commentatron proposed the idea that he and Analysis-Bot should form a band (although he calls it a "popular musical act" due to robot speech patterns).
