Clone Drone In The Danger Zone Wiki

Sword Robots are a common enemy encountered in Clone Drone In The Danger Zone.

General Description[]

Sword Robots are the first and most common enemy type encountered by the player. Their primary attack consists of approaching the player and swinging their sword, either straight downwards or left-to-right/right-to-left. They are easily recognizable by the large energy swords they carry, and their difficulty level can be identified by the standard Mark color schemes.

Variants[]

Main article: MK1 Sword Robot

Mark I Sword Robots are the first and weakest of the Sword Robot family. They are easily identifiable by their simple shoulder pads and blue color scheme.

First Appearances[]

Behavior[]

Their AI is extremely straightforward--almost literally. They make a direct beeline for the player and almost always strike downwards and not directionally. They rarely jump, mostly for (mostly failed) attempts to avoid hazards and arrows.

Tactics[]

Not much skills is needed to defeat them. Directional hammer swings can take them out in groups fairly easily, arrows can pick them off fairly quickly, spear strikes can take them out from a safe distance, flanking them with the sword is fairly easy, they have a slow recovery time from kicks, and Flame Breath takes them out almost immediately since they walk right into it.

Main article: MK2 Sword Robots

Mark II Sword Robots are the second type of Sword Robot, and a slightly more advanced version. They are easily recognizable by their red color schemes and line patterns across their armor.

Appearances[]

Behavior[]

The Mark II model has an increased sense of awareness compared to their counterpart, meaning they will periodically sidestep and strafe while charging at the player--they also jump slightly more often to avoid hazards or arrows. They tend to use directional swings, but are capable of the default downward swing. Their recovery from a kick is slightly better than the Mark I, but still slow.

Tactics[]

Despite their noticeable differences in behavior, any strategy to take out the Mark I can also be used on the Mark II. Just make sure to move more, as you can be flanked or hit from the sides.

Main article: MK3 Sword Robots

The Mark III Sword Robots are next in line in the Sword Robot model line. They are recognizable by their purple color scheme, pointy shoulder pads, and samurai-like helmet design.

First Appearance[]

Behavior[]

The Mark III variant is more agile than their Mark II counterparts, strafing and jumping more frequently, and can recover faster from kicks. Starting with this model, their swords are capable of deflecting arrows (identical to the player's Block Projectiles upgrades). They utilize their sword to the fullest extent, with both downward strikes and directional swings.

Tactics[]

Certain tactics used on previous models become more difficult to execute here due to their agility. The spear's limited directional range makes it difficult to hit the Mark III with it, and trying to strike them with an arrow can lead to your own demise since the shot is deflected. Direct sword combat is mildly challenging but possible, and the hammer's directional swings are most effective. Flame Breath can also be used to take them out in an emergency or when they're armoured.

It is recommended to be as agile as they are to help avoid their strikes, kick them down when possible (assuming the Kick upgrade is active), and take them out immediately. It is also suggested to fight them extremely close to hazards, as often their strafing tactics betray them by making them move into the hazard.

Main article: MK4 Sword Robots

The Mark IV Sword Robots are a more advanced member of the Sword Robot line, and are identifiable by their dark red color scheme, flaming highlights and shoulder pads, and helmet with burning horns.

First Appearances[]

Behavior[]

They behavior is almost identical to the Mark III--agile movement, strafing and jumping, cutting in all directions--.but what makes this model so dangerous is the Fire Sword upgrade that makes any hit they make significantly more deadly. It gets up relatively quickly from a kick. Their swords can also deflect arrows, with any deflected shot turning into fire arrows.

Tactics[]

Moving erratically around them and staying near hazards they can strafe into is much more recommended, as close-quarter combat is much more deadly--even if their hits only chip a shoulder, the fire upgrade makes that several damage to the torso that is likely to be fatal. Besides that, most of the same tactics used on the Mark III work just about the same.

Main article: MK5 Sword Robots

The Mark V Sword Robot is the most powerful member of the Sword Robot line, and are immediately identifiable by their black color scheme, numerous glowing light blue highlights, and a bulkier, knight-like appearance with a crown-shaped helmet.

First Appearances[]

Behavior[]

The Mark V is even more agile than their previous counterparts, which is coupled with them making good use of their dash ability for precise strikes and flanking.

Tactics[]

Bows and spears are practically useless against the Mark V, as they will either miss their extremely agile target or, in the case of arrows, be deflected and turned into fire arrows. Staying extremely close to hazards they can strafe into is still effective, but now works moreso as a backup plan. A jetpack-sword/jetpack-hammer combination is recommended, along with being as agile as possible to minimize the risk of getting hit; any strike they make, even if indirect, should be considered deadly. Flame Breath is also an effective tactic in emergencies.

Do not underestimate them. Consider them to be better than you, and prioritize survival and evasive maneuvers over destroying them.

Main article: MK1 Jetpack Robot

The Mark I Jetpack Bot is moreso their own line than of the Sword Robot line, but are still included here since their primary weapon is of a sword. They are identifiable by their yellow uniforms, holes in shoulder pads, and three red stripes on their head.

First Appearances[]

Behavior[]

The Mark I Jetpack (Sword) Robot behaves similarly to the Mark II Sword Robot, with the main exception being constant use of their jetpack that makes them more agile and capable of keeping up with the player.

Tactics[]

Most tactics used against the Mark II and III Sword Robots work here with slight variation. A recommended tactic is to kick them as they charge at you (possibly combining the Kick with your own Jetpack if both upgrades are active) and take them out before or as they recover.

Main article: MK2 Jetpack Robot

The Mark II Jetpack (Sword) Robot is the second robot model to utilize a Jetpack with their sword, and are easily identifiable by their red mohawk and green color scheme.

First Appearances[]

Behavior[]

The Mark II Jetpack Robot has a similar AI to the Mark III Sword Robot, with the primary exception being a Jetpack that makes them more agile and capable of keeping up with the player. Their jetpacks are faster than the Mark I Jetpack Robot, which can make them even more dangerous.

Tactics[]

Using strategies similar to what can be used on the Mark III Sword Robot is recommended, though be wary of their extreme speed and ability to strike seemingly from nowhere. Kicking them down and striking is effective, but sidestepping and tricking them into a hazard is also effective.

The Mind-Space variant of the Sword Robot (or rather, the Jetpack Robot) is exclusive to Chapter 5 of Story Mode. Since all Mind-Space opponents are made of large blue cubes, they are primarily identifiable by their red sword and usage of the jetpack.

Only Appearance[]

A sword robot made of large shimmering cubes, appearing in Chapter 5 of Story Mode. They will die to any damage but have a jetpack and kick. They also seem to have the AI of a mark IV sword robot.

Behavior[]

They behave almost identically to the Mark I/II Jetpack Bot, though they actually utilize their kicks and can be destroyed with almost any damage to their body.

Tactics[]

The same tactics used on the Mark II Jetpack Bot are recommended, though tricking them into boosting off the edge of the map or kicking them are still effective strategies. Tactics vary depending on the Mind-Space Bot you are currently controlling.

Main article: Zombie Bot

The variants of the Sword and Jetpack Robots upgraded to the Alien Crystals are vastly different from their original counterparts in behavior. They are identifiable the same way as their originals, though weathered down and covered in a green foliage-like material.

Appearances[]

  • Certain Challenges
    • Attack of the Enemy Zombies (Singleplayer)
    • Zombie Challenge (Multiplayer)

Behavior[]

By default, zombie robots are not automatically hostile until in direct extended line of sight or contact with the player, at which point they will begin charging at them. Instead of a sword, all models use heavily deformed, green claws on their hands that get bigger with the Mark model (and carry a Fire property on Mark IV). Like the Emperor, they can survive without their legs; though unlike him, they can actually crawl towards the player to continue attacking. The Jetpack Mark I models can still utilize their jetpacks.

Tactics[]

Bows, spears, and Flame Breath are among the best tools to use when trying to strike from a safe distance; of them, bows are the strongest, as they can pick off zombie bots from a distance long before they can notice you. Hammers can be used effectively for crowd control and is especially useful at taking out groups of units or larger, more advanced Zombie models.

In general, it is recommended that any weapon being used against them have the Fire upgrade, as these models can survive with most of their limbs and bodies destroyed--both front limbs or their head must be well beyond repair before they stop moving.

Main article: Business Bot#Business Sword Bot

The Business Sword Bots are less common opponents encountered by the player, and are recognizable by their dark blue uniforms and blue cuffs and tie.

Appearances[]

  • Story Mode - Chapter 3 Only
  • Endless Mode - Silver/Gold Tier (uncommon, unconfirmed)
  • Certain Challenges (especially the Zombie ones, though they appear as Allies there)

Behavior[]

Reportedly similar to the Mark II or Mark III Sword Robot, but with more fluid movements, making them slightly less agile.

Tactics[]

The same recommended tactics used on the Mark III Sword Robot work here.

Main article: Business Bot#Business Jetpack Bot

The Business Jetpack Bots are similarly unique to their Business Sword counterparts, and are identifiable by their green cuffs and tie, fire sword, usage of their Jetpack, and dark blue business uniform.

Appearances[]

  • Story Mode - Chapter 3 Only
  • Endless Mode - Gold/Diamond Tier (uncommon, unconfirmed)
  • Certain Challenges (especially the Zombie ones, though they appear as Allies there)

Behavior[]

Reportedly similar to the Mark II Jetpack Bot, though with more energy and a Fire Sword upgrade.

Tactics[]

Whatever kills the Mark II Jetpack Bots is likely to kill these guys to; just be careful of their Fire Sword. Consider any attack they land, even if indirect, fatal, and react accordingly.
