Clone Drone In The Danger Zone Wiki

Weapons are used by the player to deal damage to enemy robots, and likewise used by robots to harm the player. They can be melee or ranged, and most of them are accessible via an upgrade; however, the Laser and Grenade are unobtainable through Upgrade Bot, only usable by enemies or in certain game modes.

Melee Weapons[]

The starter weapon. It is automatically unlocked for the player in most gamemodes, with the exception of Endless Weapon challenges, "Kick Only", etc.

The Sword is a jack-of-all-trades in melee and ranged offense and defense, as it can be upgraded to deflect arrows or intensify damage via fire. The sword can swing in 3 directions, depending on which way you're rotating (if at all). This is often considered the most popular weapon as it is decently effective against all bots and is available from the start.

  • When used while boosting (if the Jet Pack upgrade is unlocked), the duration of the attack increases significantly, allowing for multiple enemies to be cut down in rapid succession with a single attack.
  • If the Sword strikes another sword, they will block and bounce off each other.
  • The sword only requires one hand to wield, so one can survive with only two limbs (an arm and a leg).
  • The sword has a larger variant, the Greatsword, only available in Multiplayer or in the respective Greatsword Challenge.

Upgrades[]

  • Block Projectiles 1: "Blocks projectiles in a 90° arc." It deflects arrows shot directly at the player from the front.
    • Block Projectiles 2: "Blocks projectiles in a 180° arc." An expanded version of Block Projectiles 1.
    • Block Projectiles 3: "Deflect projectiles at the target you look at!"
  • Fire Sword: "Your sword is ON FIRE!" Lights your sword on fire, which intensifies the amount of damage you deal to an enemy.
    • Fire Sword II: "Fire spreads further!" An upgraded version of Fire Sword. Tends to make any attack you deal lethal.

The Hammer is a heavier item and first introduced to the player in Chapter 2, via Hammer Bots.

It has the same directional attacks as the Sword, but is much slower while causing significantly higher damage upon impact. It can be upgraded to burn enemies or be larger. The larger weapon is more capable of eliminating opponents, but its size and slow speed makes it easier to hit walls and gives opponents a chance to dodge. Unlike the Sword, it is incapable of blocking attacks, but it also incapable of being blocked (outside of the spear shield and armor). Each swing has considerable end lag, so it is recommended to keep moving at all times. Overall, the weapon's at its best in close-quarter situations where there are multiple (unarmoured) enemies.

Upgrades[]

  • Hammer Size I: "Hammer is bigger."
    • Hammer Size II: "Hammer is enormous!"
  • Fire Hammer: "Hammer is ON FIRE!" While Hammer swings that hit are usually fatal, this helps for the more common possibility where the hammer clips an opponent without killing them. Requires the Hammer Size I upgrade.

The spear is a melee weapon with a slightly higher range than a sword, but attacks are somewhat slower and cannot be directional. It's good at small groups of enemies at bay and dealing with Hammer Bots, since the superior range lets someone cut them in half without getting too close, but it has a harder time with big groups or fast opponents. It is not recommended to use against Spider-Trons, since the small attack range makes cutting down the legs difficult.

This is the only melee weapon with a reticle.

Upgrades[]

  • Shield: "Unlocks a shield!" Puts a shield on the player's other hand, allowing for a strong defense against attacks from the front. Disables Kick for as long as the player has a shield.
    • Shield Bash: "Kick = Shield Bash" May require the Kick upgrade. Replaces the Kick with a shield bash, knocking opponents down with a defensive weapon. May also work when boosting. (Please update this note I beg of you)
  • Fire Spear: "Spear is ON FIRE." Requires completion of the Spear Only challenge. Lights the spear on fire, intensifying attacks dealt to often fatal degrees.

Flame Breath is an upgrade unlocked by the Inferno Challenge (Singleplayer), and requires the Energy Capacity III upgrade (four energy bars). When activated, you will spew a stream of fire in front of you, at the cost of a small amount of energy.

This is a very effective short-range defense and offense, as most robots will burn up quickly from the flame, even with armor or shields. While using Flame Breath, you become vulnerable to attack, especially from long-range attackers like Spear Bots or Archer Bots.

Upgrades[]

  • Fire Resistance: "Fire spreads less." Reduces the spread of fire on your body. Does not affect your ability to burn the competition.

Recommended upgrades would be the Energy Recharge upgrade branch.

The kick is an attack that, well, kicks opponents, knocking them backwards and temporarily stunning them. While it isn't lethal on its own, it's effective in crowd control and may lead to opponents dying via traps or lava. Kicking is directional, allowing you to knock down opponents from the sides and back, and moves you slightly in that direction.

Often, having this ability still allows you to fight without arms (though there may be exceptions, such as the Endless Weapon challenges). However, losing a leg will make you unable to kick.

Upgrades[]

  • Get Up!: "Recover quickly from being knocked over."
  • Power Kick: "Kick target into others." Increases how far opponents fly back from a kick dramatically and allows opponents being kicked to knock down other opponents behind them. Requires completion of the Kick Only challenge.

Ranged[]

The bow is a two-handed weapon that shoots arrows for around half an energy bar per arrow. It can be fired in any direction, but arrows always go in a straight line.

This is an exceptional tool at long and close ranges, as arrows can go through multiple enemies at once and could surprise opponents dealing with large groups of melee robots. Furthermore, arrows can easily fit between gaps in enemy armor, making handling armored groups closing in much easier. The arrows can be rotated to fire vertically, which can be used to more easily go through gaps in enemy armor.

Losing even a single arm makes the bow unusable, which can kill you in the Endless Bow challenge or if you have no other weapon available. This gets worse if the arm you lose is the arm used to wield other melee weapons, as by that point only a Kick upgrade can save you (assuming both legs are intact and this isn't the Endless Bow challenge).

Upgrades[]

  • Arrow Width I: "200% Wider arrows!" Increases the width of your arrows, making them more likely to hit and much more effective.
    • Arrow Width II: "300% Wider arrows!" An upgraded variant of Arrow Width I.
  • Aim Time I: "Time slows when aiming." Requires Arrow Width I and Energy Capacity I.
    • Aim Time II: "Time slooooowwwws..."
  • Fire Arrows I: "Arrows are ON FIRE!" Requires completion of the Endless Bow challenge.
    • Fire Arrows II: "Fire spreads further!"

It is recommended to purchase the Energy Capacity and Energy Recharge upgrades when using this weapon, as wasting arrows or boosting too much makes you more vulnerable to attack.

The laser is ranged lethal weapon that instantly kills anyone hit by it, regardless of where they were hit, at any distance. The player can only access this attack in the respective Laser Challenge, in Last Bot Standing, or when mind transferring to a Laser Raptor.

The laser, when activated, has a considerable start lag consisting of a beeping noise and a red line of where it will fire. It then fires a long beam which moves upwards slowly (and is somewhat directional as you can slowly turn during the attack). The beam shuts off after approximately 2.5 seconds. The robot firing it cannot move during the attacks, and firing the laser costs two energy bars.

This laser has no upgrades, but can be paired with Energy Capacity or Energy Recharge upgrades.

Used By[]

Grenades are explosives that can only be fired by Spider-Trons or Command Bots. They are a glowing red orb that, when detonated, stuns anyone in immediate proximity as well as firing off a bunch of small shrapnel in random directions, which in rare cases can be lethal.

These grenades knock down anyone near it, even bots on its own team. Spider-Tron 5000 can only fire one at a time, but Spider-Trons 6000 and 7000 can fire several in a line. Command Bots and Spider-Trons are the only ones immune to the grenades' stun effect, but Command Bots are launched upwards significantly by the explosives they drop.

There are no upgrades for this weapon, since it is exclusive to enemy bots that cannot be mind transferred to (or at least can't use them if they were).

Trivia[]

  • In Multiplayer, all upgrades are unlocked for the players to use, regardless of whether the player unlocked them in Singleplayer.
  • The Laser has another variant that no player or robot can obtain, but instead is a stage hazard--the Auto Laser. This Auto Laser is used in:
    • the Ally Challenge, where it destroys the ally robots you don't select in some round.
    • In the Death Cube 3.0, where it acts as a moving hazard that kills on contact.
    • At certain points in Story Mode (Chapters 3, 4, and 5) and the Attack of the Enemy Zombies singleplayer challenge.
  • There is one instance where grenades do not create shrapnel when detonated--when the Fleet Overseer blows up an elevator in Chapter 3 of Story Mode.
  • When melee attacks are used during a dash, they are extended for the duration of the dash--this is more evident with the Jet Pack upgrade.
